Julie Ann Fairley is an elementary school teacher in the New York City Public School System. She is an author of Coco, Rainbow, Cherry, Mango Flavors for Friend, a short story and poetry book for children. She also just completed her first book of poetry for adults, titled “I’ll Let You Know.” She is currently working on a card line for children that addresses their various concerns. As a writer, Julie Ann feels the need to expose herself and become the voice of young people’s joy, pain, and struggles. She believes that “as much as things have changed, many of the life lessons I learned as a child remain the same.”
Julie Ann received her B.A. degree and an M.S. in education from Herbert H. Lehman College in the Bronx, New York. She is the mother of three daughters and her late son, and she is a lover of life and all its possibilities. As the late author J. California Cooper profoundly wrote, “The Matter Is Life…” She embraces it all!
